KMCT Ayurveda Medical College in association with Balussery Gramapanchayath, National Ayush mission, Department of Indian Systems of Medicine (ISM), Ayurveda Medical Association of India, and Kerala Ayurvedic Cooperative Society organised Mazhakkala Charya 2019 for public on Tuesday. The programme was held at Balussery AUP School.
The event was organized to mark the first day of Malayalam month Karkidakam- the preeminent time for Ayurveda treatments. Ayurveda Expo, Public Awareness Classes, Quiz programme for school Children, and yoga training for kids were also conducted in connection with the programme. Dr Preetha AS and Dr Raneesh P Thampi took awareness classes.
As part of the programme, the students erected a number of edifying and creative posters giving information on foods which may pave the way for gastrointestinal problems during this season. Therapeutic plants that were mostly used during the monsoon were also put on a display.
Earlier the programme was inaugurated by Sri. Pushshan Kdalundi MLA. Srimathi K Sreeja [President – Balussery Gramapanchayath] presided over the function. Dr KM Mansoor[ DMO], Dr Sugesh Kumar GS[ National Ayush Mission DPM], Sreemathi AK Asha, T.P. Manoj Kumar, Sanil Kumar, Dr Suresh VS [Asso. Professor & Staff Advisor – KMCT Ayurveda Medical College], Dr. Subin Suresh [Associate Professor-Dept. of Koumarabrithya, KMCT Ayurveda Medical College], Dr Vivek, and Dr Vipin also spoke.
